Upfitter Switches

I see posts that talk about either adding lights using these switches or just in general installation questions, are there any other modifications that could be used for these switches, the brush guard I have on my truck would prevent doing lights and the like in the front? This is for a 06 King Ranch 6.0L Diesel 1-ton dually. I appreciate any and all help.

Thanks

Here are a few ideas...

1) High idle control
2) Air Compressor On/Off
3) Large Backup lights
4) Ejector Seat (Kids won't touch them now!!)
5) Smoke screen
6) Heated Mirrors Manual Control
7) Heated Seats Manual Override
8) Battery Charge High Idle
9) Humm... Need more switches
10) Still thinking...

Just a few off the top of my head...

Chris

Oil slick. To purge the extra oil the dealer installs.

Hey Chris, in your list, numbers 1 and 8 I have no idea what your talking about when it comes to idle controls, I never really tried anythin aftermarket on trucks with the exception of audio and navigation stuff, everything else is new to me, sorry to appear dumb on that, but I'm afraid that I am when it comes to some of this stuff. Thanks for the help with the ideas

tex25025,

Do a search for "SEIC" or "AIC" and restrict it to the past two months and restrict it to search for only posts by me (ryaneverk2), and you'll find a post I made with all the info you'd ever want on hooking up high idle to the upfitters.

Here is what you need to know. Both are built in from 2005 onwards.

Go to Ford at:

https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas...s/hotinfo.html

And find Bulletin "New QVM-108 Bulletin" at the bottom. Will tell you all about the EIC.

Also QVM-117 will tell you all about the upfitter switches.

1 & 8 on my list are basically simular, however they function a bit different. 1 is just a high idle (1200 RPMs) for PTO applications or heating the engine up or extended idle. 8 will raise the idle from 1200-2400 RPMs to make sure that the battery is charged, once it is it will lower it to 1200.

Chris,
Thanks for the info, I appreciate everyone's helpful suggestions and I apologize for not being up to speed on this stuff, other then audio, I never really changed anything with my truck, as I needed it to haul horses and some of the stuff that people do, I couldn't unless I had another truck to haul everything in. Once again, thanks.
