I have been down here in New Orleans and there is a lot going on with the clean up and all. There are lots of heavy duty trucks pulling large trailers and the most prevalent trucks are Superduty's.There are more Ford Superduty's than any other make.Lots of brand new ones.Just thought I would pass this on.
I'm here too. I have never seen so many Super Dutys. They out number Dodges probably 2:1, and Chebys 3:1.
They are working!
As soon as I get my personal belongings straight, I'm going to try and get on hauling trash. May even buy a trailer and build up a crew. There is work hauling trash for months...
this doesnt really apply to the disaster clean up but everytime i go to the lake it seems like 90% of them are superdutys pulling boats. any other truck out there looks out of place. its pretty cool.
I just purchased a 10 k GVW Bri-Mar dump trailer with a 7 x 12 deck over bed,,removeable sides,,,,works great,,already dumped 8 loads of rocks with it,,gotta be about 5 tons per load,,,This set-up would be helpful in the clean-up of the Hurricane area. It has a 20' remote cord,,I can send it through my rear sliding window and control it from the drivers seat. Oh yeah and I pull it with my 04' F-350 V-10 Super-Duty,,
I bet the vast majority are diesels, too. Dallas Fire-Rescue sent a group of people and started to send a vehicle - one of their older gas-powered Suburbans. FEMA said "good luck" on getting fuel. Diesel, no problem... gas, we don't use it, you're on your own.
Ford Rules period!!!! I work for the Port Authority at the Holland Tunnel and all day I see nothing but Lincoln Town cars being used as Limousines. And when I am in Manhattan all you see on the road is yellow Crown Victorias as taxi cabs. And when you get pulled over for doing something stupid around our tunnel, you will only see blue and white Crown Vics.
I asked a limo driver how many miles he had on his town car. He told me 245,000 miles and then he informed me this was his low mileage limo. His other Lincoln had over 400,000 miles on it. We also use Ford PSD trucks for emergencies.
I personally own a 2003 F-350 Lariat CC FX-4 PSD LB as my commuter vehicle. The wife has a 2004 Mercury Monterey and we have a newly aquired 1998 E-150 Club wagon with 117,000 miles on it. Runs like a top!!

NO is a weird place right now.
I do chase and pit work for an off-road racing team,In the pits or on the road it is not unusual to see 8-10 SD's parked together. Not many of the lesser brands out there.
