The Odometer & Trip Odometer (Speedo still works) quit working on my 97 F250LD 4x4. Don't want to pay the dealer 400 bones to replace it, so I had a question - besides the obvious - does anyone know what might be wrong? - the real question is this;
If I get an instrument cluster w/ a digital Odometer (the old one is analog) and plug it in will it display the proper mileage?
- I was wondering since I know these newer vehicles keep track of the mileage in the computer...
is it just the light gone? there is a thread on how to repair the odometer with out replacing the whole dash it takes about a hour and cost about ten$ for supplies with a solder gun. the question is if its the light or not proably the light it could not hurt to try it it is in FAQ under Odometer.

Will that fix work on one that diplays the mileage with an ANALOG display? (has the little numbers that go around in a circle as opposed to the green LED/s).
