When?

So, we keep getting little bits of info on this new engine, some true, some not. What I would like to know, is when Ford plans to start talking about this new engine, instead of keeping everyone in the dark. If they were smart, they'd start add campaigns, just to psyche everyone up, but not reveal any crucial information.

When the vast majority of 06 PSDs are sold and many buyers are pleased that they bought the latest , greatest, only then will Ford promote the " new improved " 6.4 PSD.

This is like deja vu to me because I remember back in early 94 when Ford threw a Turbo on the old 7.3 IDI and told customers they were getting the latest greatest.

When the new DI PSD came out, buyers were livid and honest car salesmen were saddened that they had deceived their customers.

Not every 06 buyer knows thart a better PSD is right around the corner and don't expect Ford to tell them. History always repeats itself.

That makes sense Wrench. I hadn't even thought about the '06 line-up.

I believe that wrench is very correct. Remember what happen to the '95/'96 F-150 MY? Sales plummeted due to anticipation of the very early intro of the new and great '97 F-150 redesign.

Worked out for me though 'cause I stole a very nice '95 3 weeks before the '97 launched. What was the '97...an 18 month MY? Bought my '97 when the '98s were close to being released.

I tend to agree with what Wrench said.

Why is there no official info on the 6.4l yet???

No, it will for sure be coming out in '06, on the '07 models. Apparently there will be a much more early release then usual.

It's a good thing I don't wear hats because after having two Heavyweights like KW5413 &
BigF350 come out and say they agree with me.............those hats wouldn't fit anymore.

Take care and let's all hope that new 6.4 is the best diesel engine ever put in pickup.

When you bees right, you bees right. When you not bees right you bees wrong. More times than not...you bees right, though.

Just because we might have had a spirited discussion or two doesn't mean anything more than we disagreed on those subjects. Never said I didn't respect you or your knowledge.

Heck, my wife says I know everything anyway.

KW- good to have you back

I really hope my new 06MY isn't a mistake. I didn't want to wait for the 07s and I didn't want to gamble on a new release...it sounds like they'll be out sooner than later.

Besides, how much better could it possibly be???

Do you guys think those spy photos were to throw us off track? Those look like just another grill change.

That's what I was thinking. Didn't make any sense, we all thought it would be a completely new design...maybe they were trying to throw us off, you know, back to what Wrench was saying. If people see that Ford is only doing a grille change, and some tailgate enhancements, that they would buy an '06? I don't know, seems kinda far fetched, guess we'll find out soon enough.

Along those lines It could be that Ford is disguising the disguise. All the while using the basic current model as a mule to field test the new engine.

Besides, look at all the interest they generating.

Prototype the interior, throw a mask on the front end and baadda boom, baadda bing.

A regular Lone Ranger....who was that masked Ford?

That's exactly what I was thinking, I have no idea how far Ford will go to try and throw us off though.

I sure hope they're testing, they are doing a good job of hiding it if they are. I haven't seen any overgrown tonka trucks around these parts.

Like he said I am sure that they are disguising the 6.4L in a current vehicle model year so that poeple aren't leaking pics and all that crap.......
