Low boost and CPS question.
New to the FTE, and a 1st time virgin Ford 7.3 owner.
Looks like alot of great guys & info here.
2 Things:
1. CPS sensor was shutting my engine off for about the last 10 days.
The engine would always restart on the 1st restart, today it totally failed. Will not restart, will turn over and the tach moves alittle. Just got a new CPS and will be installing it in the next few hours. ??? Why would my tach still move??????
2. My wastegate rod is tight, and I removed the control line, pluged it. Still feels sluggish. What else could I check??
Thanks Bobby
1. What year is your truck? On my 01 I can unplug the cam sensor and the tach will still jump a little, don't ask me why. I've also heard that on the 02 and newer rigs the tach trick doesn't always work.
2. Any drivibility issues? Is it missing, smoking, etc. etc. What are you comparing it to for the sluggish feeling?
1999 Ford F350 7.3 PSD
No smoke, 100% stock ride.
Changed the oil
Replaced the CPS
New Fuel filter (less than 50 miles)
Does seem to have good fuel PSI.
Fuel pump is pumping strong.
Running "sluggish"
Was missing alittle, jumping, surging
The last 2-3 mins of it running it was losing power.
Check engine light came on, (not on now)
Pulled over, engine went dead.
Please help, Thanks
Will start with wd-40, spraying into the intake.
