Well guys, all I can say is "You ain't seen nothin' yet." Diesel at $3.25 a gallon? Just wait until 2010 – it will be $10.00 a gallon or more.
I've been reading a lot about this oil thing and it don't look good. Take a look at this DOE report from April, 2000:
http://www.eia.doe.gov/pub/oil_gas/petroleum/presentations/2000/long_term_supply/sld001.htm
(It’s a slide show style so easy to follow)
If you’re into heavier reading try this site:
http://www.energybulletin.net/2544.html - lots of info there. Also the March 1998 issue of Scientific American (you all read that magazine, right?) had an article entitled "The End of Cheap Oil?" which said world oil production will peak in 2004. Last year? We're on the downhill slide now.
Bottom line here? We've run outta oil and they ain't making dinosaurs any more.

I'm not even going to stop driving mine, but I reserve the right to complain about the fuel prices all I want.

I have a 38 gallon tank. If I tow my kubota every day I fill up 2-3 times a week. Fuel is more than twice my mortgage payment. It is more than three times my truck payment. We are all working to keep the Arabs living large. Ain't life grand?

The only thing I care about is starting every day looking down at the grass and not up, and my children are all ok. If you are still breathing, everything else will fall into line. Believe me things could be a lot worse.

I know fossil fuels are not an infinite source, but I think that this stuff about very small amounts left is total crap. Look how big the world is. The gov't doesn't do anything to keep prices of oil down because of $$$. The gov't makes a killing of tax from fuel. It will never change. The government may run the country, but big business runs the government.

I have seen fuel here in Alabama at $3.48 a gallon. I had to quit driving my truck a couple of months ago due to the fuel prices. I am doing good to be able to afford fuel for my Civic. Unfortunately, I have a 120 mile per day commute that eats up my paycheck.
