I have a 2003 F250 CC SB. I just got it back yesterday from the detail shop and as soon as i started it, it started making this clicking noise from under the dash. It is on the driver side and as best as I can tell it is just behind where the storage knook is in the dash. I have noticed that it is very inconsistent and sometimes does it real bad and sometimes only for a second, I have also noticed that if it is doing it and I apply the brakes it stops and as soon as I let off may begin again immediately or wait 10 or 15 seconds and start again. It sounds like little plastic gears stripping. Any hints.
Did you get this problem resolved? I currently have a 02 F250 XL doing the same thing. Radio will light but does not work, no power at fuse panel. Fuel gauge has a mind of its own. Thought it might be sending unit, however, it seems as if it is related to that clicking.
The clicking noise the OP mentioned back in 2005 was likely a bad ground through the multifunction switch (turn signal/wiper/4way flasher switch) assembly. This will have nothing to do with your radio or fuel sender however.
