? before buying
First off Hello all...Im Ed and have read alot of good posts here and think this is a great site....I finally have a ? for someone to answer for me....
Im looking at a 1993 stx ranger extended cab...has manual 5 speed trans and has 108000 miles on her..
the problem is something with the trans I know but could this be a easy fix...what he had told me was when he tried to put it in reverse he said it wouldnt go,....so he tried 1st and it was fine and could go through rest of gears but can here clicking noise coming from trans....he drove home like this 30mph....if someone could help me out here as far as what the problem is ...would be grat thanks in advance.....Id really like to get this truck if its not gonna cost that much.....

Someone will probably be along to answer your question on the M5OD-R1 tranny which I assume the '93 has. I have only passing knowledge of it myself.
I have read before that over time the slave cylinder and/or throwout bearing can fail to release the clutch completely, which can make shifting into 1st and reverse difficult on these trannies.
