I'm about to start a new hobby and am looking for advice. I want to start "nugget shooting"- looking for gold with a metal detector. I just ordered a Fisher Gold Bug II ( the cheapest gold detector I could find) and I have a private place to go...so if anyone has any helpful hints please let me know.
Thanks
In your area, find places that have both quartz and hot springs. Old mine piles can be good, too. The screens they used in the old days were rather large and let some small nuggets through, (that can be considered large by hobby standards.)
well spent almost 700 on the cheapest (maybe a mistake) gold detector i could find and it'll be here friday...now i have to convince my wife to go with me on sat...hopefully she will...as long as i dont tell her about all the rattlesnakes...she hates snakes
yep...ill have a smoker with me full of bird shot and i ahve one set of gaitors...maybe i should offer them to her?...dont want to go alone, went deer hunting last year opening day had a decent CA buck; anyways gutting it i was being forgetful and didnt take my VERY sharp knife out and sliced my hand open almodt severing the tendons and exposing a lot of muscle, my 9 yearold had to patch me up so i could finish and load the buck up...then i had to skin it at home...lol...that afternoon i finally had it stiched up...inside and out...so id rather have an adult around...or atleast someone who can reach the pedals to drive me out!
tolumne co. sonora area...not exactly sure anymore, havent been there for about 15 years and the last time was to wokr cattle...thats what i'm hoping for...to at least pay for the machine..but when i called him tonight to say i'd be ready sunday he said not to worry it'll pay for itself...he has more confidence than i do!
The best place to find gold is in my mouth.
I paid enough for it....that's for sure.
I have a house about 5 miles from the superstition mountains east mesa, arizona and their always getting gold up thar.
One thing to remember, go where no one has gone before. If u see a place and your first reaction is "there's no way I would go there"......that's the place u have to go.
Actually, right after a hard rain....in the ravines is a good place to go.
Something else to look for is "meteorites"......could be worth more than gold.
Also, people use to bury their money in the ground because they did not trust banks......well, what if they died before they could tell anyone about it, and where would u hide it if u were in their place? Some place in the wilderness, huh?
