My Dad uses an Enfield #4 in .303 for hunting. He picked it up from Big 5 in Reno for about $175. I got a K-98 8mm Mauser from there too for $140 with an excellent barrel.
Hell, you could probably get a WWII French rifle from there, I bet they've never been fired and only dropped once.

I have an old "Mauser Modelo Argentino 1891. Manufactura Loewe Berlin" This is on the side of the chamber.
It uses Norma 7.65 ARG.
I bought it almost 40 years ago and used it Deer hunting. It is deadly accurate.
It has a flip sight for range.
The last bullets I bought for it was over 25 years ago and they cost about a dollar each then. And they were very hard to find.
the mauser is an 8mm. it is a japanese make. and the gun shop said that it was from wwI to early wwII. they said that the new 8mm shells wont work because the breach is not the same. I was told that it was a 7mm. the gun shop rodded it and it is really an 8mm. if you look at the bolt and on the barrel, there is japanese writing. I have no idea what it says. the guy at the gun shop says that the ones on the barrel are the names of the people that made the gun. we are gonna take it to get it looked at by an apraiser. when I took it to the shop I had a famous skeet shotter wanting to buy it from me, he was really interested. I don't remember what his name was. him and half the store were begging me to sell it to them. so apparently I have some thing that gun collecters really want. they said that it was in the best shape that they had seen, for a gun of its age. and I have now purchased a 30-06. it is a savage, with a tasco scope. heard that they are really good brands. hopefully that helps clear the confusion up.
