Fired up the propane grill tonight to cook some steaks. Preheating the grill and it ran out of gas. No problem I have a back up tank.
Hooked up new a tank and the grill wouldn't work properly. The propane regulator would freeze up (ice on the outside of the regulator) causing the gas flow to stop.
Almost sounds like the bottle was overfilled. Sending liquid propane through the regulator can indeed freeze it up, which is a good thing, because the grill is NOT made for liquid propane, only propane gas. I've had a couple ruined that way over the years.
could be a leak in the fitting. mix up some dish liquid in warm water and poor on all the connections. turn the lalve 1/3 open and chk for bubbles<---- the leak. wipe off the mix right away after. it stains
Sounds like your getting liquid. This isnt too good. Problem is liquid pressure is dependant on temperature, so once the liquid is past the regulator it will begin to increase in pressure. At 70* propane pressure is around 118 psi, your bbq only needs 1/2 lb of pressure. Another problem is that one part liquid = 270 parts vapor. Either way its not real safe to use that way. I would take it back and exchange it for another.
