I know about the cubby mat...put since I put a brake controller it's not big deal.
I did not know about a console mat. That would be nice to have. Anyhone have a part number?
I found that the "anti slip" waffle stuff works better, and is cheaper. They sell it for 'no slip' on counter tops, tool drawers, ...etc. Comes in blue, tan... and in a roll (that's how I bought it).
I found two things that the 05 x has that the 02 does not.
1. There is an extra rear light at the very back.
2. There is a cover that covers the piano hinge from the second row seats that fold down. This really helps when loading as everthing would get hung up on that hinge.
3. There is a safty bar under the bumper to prevent the X from running over a car.
Also, it is now very easy to get to both the fog light and headlights to change the bulbs to the brighter whiter ones (my next mod). This was difficult before.
Just thought I would point that out since I have owned both.

Your #1 is odd. If your speaking of INTERIOR light... my '00 has the same as my '05. Nothing new added or deleted. With the last light(s) able to be switched off independent of the dash switch. Nothings changed.
Your #2 I have no idea of any piano hinge. Got a picture? (and why oh why did they not change the crappy engineering of a velcro'd wood flap covered with carpet when you fold the second row forward.... amaaazing).
Your #3 is on all 4x models, from my '00... to my '05. It was an after thought on the '00 as they found them to be unsafe.... you can tell how the mount was made making it that afterthought on the '00. It's a new frame mount stamped over the top of another... with it being tack welded to the existing. (instead of removing the pre-existing mount(s) and adding the cross bar bracing - they simply went over the top of other parts). Not sure why your '02 didn't have one?! You sure???

#1 Hey...this is weird. I know my 02 didn't have it...the reason I know is that is where the infered deal was for my aftermarket wireless headphones...maybe the installed took it off of placement and I didn't notice.
#2 When you fold the 2nd row flat and the big open cabin is visable. On my 02 it was a black exposed piano type hinge. Now it is a smooth tan plastic cover that allows you to slide better from back to front.
#3 I believe they added this on the 03 and above models (when the new powestroke come out). I remember seeing it on some web site as a change in safty features and thinking "oh well". I know it was not on my 02 because I changed out my grill and headlight sand my coolant numurous times and was always under there. I got under these last night and it was like whoa...in you face big black bar.

hmmm... like I said, my '00 HAD IT... so not sure why your '02 didn't.
I know mine had it since I removed it... to add this;
which is a deritive of this;
And here's the bar.... again, this is a 2000 4x4. With and without;
Hey maybe we are not talking about the same thing. Anyway, nice truck.
Here in SoCal... it's not a mad max "look"... it's an off-road look as is the look of a pre-run bumper for chasing or pitting a Baja 1000 Trophy Truck. It's pretty common here.
...and, I think we're talking about the same thing. How can we not? There's only one bash bar... and I just showed you a pic with it, and without it.
They look very different to me. Mine is a complete round steel bar about 4 inches in diameter that is flattened on the ends and bolted. Designed to keep the X from literally running over a lower vehicle. See pic in my profile in a minute.

Ok... same, but not the "same". I know what it's for... I'm just explaining that all the 4x4s have the bar. Whether it's round, square, triangular... it's there, on ALL 4x4s.
Hence the reason I had thought it VERY odd the 2002 didn't have one. And thus the reason I asked if it was a 2x.
Nice looking rig.... Black on Black is a nice look. Pain to keep clean (as I too once owned all black), but worth it once it's all cleaned up. I'm not sure of the "bling" 20s though.... they wouldn't work for me (off-roading or airing down)... kind of defeats the purpose of owning a 4x4.
I also just found out that I only have (2) roof rack cross pieces... the locking style that aren't a 'twist' lock down.
On my '00 I had (2) twist style that are smaller than the 'lift' handle version... and (2) handle version cross pieces.
Good thing when I traded in my '00... I had kept all 4 of the pieces from the roof rack. Now I've got more than I need.
If anyone has the two smaller screw down cross braces... have you noticed they actually rub against the painted roof top?! Mine did, hence I removed them.
Johnny...my '05 came with the two pieces that are the lift variety. They were against the paint so I removed them. I frankly would have preferred it if Ford had left the whole thing off.

Kind of nutty how they sit on the paint huh?!!
I only used mine a couple times on 10hr drives to go skiing/snowboarding and when I had a full truck of people. Using the rack to strap down boards and such.
I too think it looks much nicer and cleaner without them, let alone they don't damage the paint when they're removed.
I've come close to looking into removing the entire thing... as my GF has a Chevy Tahoe and it's only (4) torx bolts to remove her rack, and then 4 rubber plugs siliconed in to keep the water out.
