No, my screen name at the Diesel Garage is the same as it is here. I only have two posts, and it will most likely stay that way. I Personally don't care for the arrogant atmosphere there.
No, I don't plan on doing any commercial tuning. I have some good friends at another well known tuning outfit, and I honestly couldn't do my own without inadvertently "stealing" some of their tuning techniques, seeing that I have access to files that are not readily available on the market. I just can't justifty jeapordizing personal friendship for the sake of a paycheck.
You wouldn't want mine anyways Present file is shifting at 4450 RPM with unregulated ICP pressure, boost far in excess of 40 lbs, over 125 mg/stroke mass fuel flow and peak injection timing at nearly 20 degrees. I didn't write it to be persay, reliable
WOW!
That's the first bad thing I have seen about TDG.
I personally feel it is one of the best sites, with a great group.
Just my .02
This file would cause a whole new set of homeland security issues...
"Killings by mysterious flying cylinder heads"
ill get a steel chain and wrap it around the motor 3 or 4 times just in case lol jk yea stuff gets expensive, that suncoast tranny keeps shifting real nice tho even on level 5 with the edge.
I have John's tunes and have talked to plenty others. I bought it thinking that it would be good for my trans. That hope was short lived. His tunes have given me the most trans issues. I would check with Mitch at PDP (email me if you need contact info) or Innovative. They are two of the tops right now. I heard Tadd at ATS has some good tunes but he doesn't have much tuning time now at ATS (just rumored).
Chris
ok now how about in english
i have no idea who these people are!!!
where's the best place to get a tranny tune
OK.. Sorry guys I don't get over here much anymore... Yes the SCT simply plugs into the port under your dash. It downloads your PCM and uploads a modified version. When you are ready you plug it back in and put your stock program back in.
I am also told that Jody Tipton is now doing SCT's but have yet to hear of anyone trying his tunes. His site is DP-Tuner
DJ also has some good tunes I hear but I don't think he does business online yet but if you are in Florida you may check him out. DJ's Performance
I have only tried Jason/John Wood's tunes and PDP's. I usually run the PDP tunes but Tadd from ATS is supposed to be sending me a couple tunes to check out. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions.
how would that work?
would they just reprogram them? how much?
also what about the new xcal2 they can be programmed yourself correct?
will they tune in my tranny for use with my edge?
thanks
jason
Yes you can buy used but you will have to pay to a tuner for some tunes. I am sure prices will vary and you will have to check with them to see what they are. Yes you can have them strictly do a tranny tune that will work with your Edge. FYI.. I have heard a couple of guys say that they like the power of the XCAL better then the Edge and took their Edge out and sold it. Hope this helps ya.
Their is a brand new XCal2 that has canned programs on it but it is the same price as a custom tuned one (or close to it). These just came out on the market so I doubt that you will find one of those. The new firmware will allow even custom tuned XCal's to have some end user adjustments. Getting it reprogrammed is really no big deal. Most will just email you the tunes to use.
As for price... I am sure everyone is different. I have heard one of the company's charge $65.00 but is probably going to start charging more as SCT is suggesting that they do so. This is just one of the prices I have heard, you will need to contact them directly to find out. Hope this helps.
We carry the NEW SCT 9415 XCAL2, with the stock programs. it doies give you some flexibility for tranny shifts, line pressure and Traction control. We have not gone into the custom piece yet, but it will be there soon.
how do i contact pdp i can't seem to find anything on them?
