what do you guys think?
Is 85mph in the 1/4 mile fair for a 4wd, auto, 390?

3.50 gears
5200lbs
670 carb
rpm intake
9.65cr
343901 cam
basic street headers aka hedman's
ported heads
inital timing is 8-10 btdc.
the same thing minus headers, rpm intake, ported heads was around 76 mph.

Here's what's killing you:
31's
3.50's
5200lbs
To a lesser extent, 343901
So yeah, it is to be expected.
A shift kit for the C6 would help. I have a Trans-Go in mine. Chirp!
Pop a bigger cam in there.
If you can run more timing without pinging, do it.
Now I've got the urge to put the rest of my truck back together and go down to the track.
