"smoke in public places"..Oh yeah, that is real bummer.. ..It will be nice not to have to put up with smoke even when sitting in the non smoking section..JMO..
And no offense, but the drinking and driving thing is kind of a no brainer! I feel kind of bad for the smokers, even though I don't smoke, especially in bars. After all, your'e not in a bar for your health in the first place! My folks smoke like chimneys and it's never really bothered me that much, but it's sure gonna give them a case of the ****.
I think its a good thing... most of my coworkers are smokers, now, they have to go out to their car to smoke on breaks. Drinking and driving is a no brainer...
What is it with people thinking their rights are more important the the next guys rights?
Good God if people have the right to breath clean air we should have the right not to breath clean air.
"if people have the right to breath clean air we should have the right not to breath clean air."..True, but there is no way us "clean air breathers" could do this even sitting in a non smoking section..If you want to smoke go ahead, it is your right..
I just don't want it imposed on me, which is my right..
well, the smokers still have the bars and casinos until 2009, and after that, it'll be interesting to see how much business the bars and casinos lose....i know that the smoking ban killed business at a lot of "smoker friendly" restaurants, here in kalispell, especially finnegans...the only 24/7 restaurant up here....friday/sat. nites are still busy as hell, tho, after the bars close down....i don't care either way about smoking or non-smoking....i don't smoke, my folks did when i was growin up,, and i'm used to being around it....so, either/or....no matter to me....
We have NO SMOKING at all in public places (example: restaurants, coffee shops, etc) here in Ontario. It has been the law for a few years now I think (maybe 2 years). Anyway, it is the best thing they could have done. It is sooooo much nicer going out for dinner now. From the looks of things it doesn't "appear" to have hurt any businesses (but I could be wrong).
One of my good friends always insists on smoking a cigar when we hit the bars... he is also that 70s looking guy winking at every girl that walks by, I've noticed that a quite a few girls do smoke, but they're like your moms age and walking around in teenage girls type clothing... its very disturbing... I'm not a real big fan of bars anyway...
