Hello everyone I finally registered. I've been lurking for about 2yrs.I have found this forum to have great imformation and knowlegable people.I have purchaced a 1977 4x4, 3/4 ton p/u.This truck is beautiful new matallic blue paint, 6" lift, running 35's (could go larger),A/T and a 460. I've owned a 75 p/u and a 75 bronco in the past. I just got rid of my bronco to buy this p/u, and I would never go back.now that i'm done boring everyone my question. I'm not sure what my 460 came out of. I think it's a car because or the 2 dip sticks.( one in the front of the engine and the other in the oil pan).I can't find the ID# off the engine but he I do have # from the heads (D3VE-A2A) and intake manifold (D4VE-BB).any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Well...first of WELCOME TO FTE!! Congrats on your new toy. As far as what the 460 came out of....judging by the date code you posted the heads were cast in '73 so I'm inclined to think that the block was maybe cast in 1971. So basically it's a 1973 460 out of either a T-bird or a Lincoln. Hope this helps you some. I have a 429 with the same heads that I took out of a '73 T-bird last fall. You need anymore help just give us a hollar.
1978 F-150 flareside. Primitive by todays standards but she was a jaw dropper back then. :-staun
Hello TDOG and welcome. Okay, I have to ask. You have two dip sticks for the engine? Learn something new every day here. My 460 only has one in front for the oil and one back for the tranny. Check ya later.
