4spd question
I need a 4 spd transmission that will bolt up behind a 460. it is in a 78 f-150 4wd. What kind of donor truck do I need to look for. Can you change bellhousings on a Ford man trans. Sorry for so many questions but This is my first Ford.

You need to look for a late 70's donor that has/had a 351m or 400. This engine family has the same bell housing bolt pattern as the 429 and 460. Your tranny choices are either the T-18 or NP 435. Both are good trannies, but most folks favor the NP 435. Also, ther is a company called L&L Perf. that makes all kinds of adaptor kits, headers, etc for putting a 460 in your truck. Good Luck!

Hello,I have a np 4speed out of a 1979 ford that will mount to a 429/460 i also have the bell houseing and the t-case.But before i can sell this i have to see if this other t-case will mount to an aod i have b/c if it dont i will use the 4 speed and t-case in my truck.I will find out tuesday and if this other t-case works i will let you know if your interested in the 4 speed bellhousing and t-case let my know the t-case is a np 205 let me know
