This is where I got mine: http://www.mandrelbending-tubefabric...com/index.html. I gave them a call and told them my truck/trim level etc...got a delete pipe that was mandrel bent and fit the stock system perfectly...
Well, any autoparts store should have some straight stock in 3.5". If not go to your local "sketchy" muffler shop and ask to buy a straight peice of pipe.
just go to your local big truck shop and ask for a 4 ft piece of 3.5 ID..go to the local muffler shop and tell the to cut the hangers and put new ones on ar weld the cut ones to get it to fit...sounds great just did mine this week...only thing is I saw my mileage go DOWN!!!!!!!! that sucks!
that is PROBABLY because you knew you were doing a modification that would add a sound that you particularly liked. therefore, you sub-conciously used more pedal than you have before. in real life driving, a straight pipe reduces back pressure, which will increase mileage and give marginal HP/tq. gains.
no, that will not work! the wall thickness of the pipe is not 1/4'', therefore the OD of the pipe will not be 4''. it is closer to 3.6''. best to get a regular 3.5'' pipe and get a muffler shop to flare one end for you. or both if you arent sliding it into a already-flared end.
I went to my local muffler shop and they cut the muffler off and added a piece of straight pipe for 30 bucks,,, 3.5" Pipe is more common than you might think.
