Has anybody put in a gas tank under the bed, with the filler neck located in the back, behind the license plate?
On the Unibody it might work because the rear bumper is thin enough, and the plate is mounted above the bumper in the back of the bed area. I was thinking a flip down license plate holder could be retrofitted also.

Will the top of the filler be far enough above the top of the tank so gas will not run out when parked on a hill? Most cars with that arrangment had that problem.
Hey ***** good point.
I have read that some of the newer fill spouts have anti spill valves in them. The spill valve is realy just a ball in a basket and when gas trys going out the ball seats and stops the gas from spilling. My 95 GMC Sonoma has one in it.
Other than that I like the idea of the fill spout under the plate better than in the bed.
well some of us still use the bed of the truck as a truck and if you had a load of something in the bed it would be rather difficult to gas up. Also if you hauled something like gravel or sand you could have a heck of a mess.
