Mine wasn't working when I bought it -- wouldn't latch. After dissassembly I found the spring and other components inside were rusted up. I sprayed with penetrating oil, worked the mechanism, repeated, repeated, repeated.... After reinistalling it happened again, but this time I sprayed without the dissasembly. I'ts been good for over a year now, knock on wood. You might try this before taking everything apart (am I too late?). My problem may have originated with the handle that is prone to sticking in the open position. I still need to lube that with some lithium greese occasionaly.
Oh yeah, wear eye protection and an old cap when spraying overhead.
The spray type litium grease is best for that application the liquid penetrates the crevices and drys into grease in a few minutes used it on my drivers side door latch when it was sticking no problems here.
I'm sure the guy on e-bay downloaded from that site what people do to make a quick buck these days .

also works wonders on those sticky power windows. just spray into window channel and clean excess from glass. better is door panel off, but not necessary.
never use WD40 on something one wants to mechanically move or operate later. after the solvents and penetrant petroleum distillants in the WD40 dry out, what is left is akin to ship bunker oil mixed with roofing tar.
wonder why the WD40 manuf right on the can states "Not a lubricating oil" ?
ask any locksmith about WD40, it produces a good percentage of their business calls.
right tool for the right job, 96. I use powdered graphite on all my locks. WD-40 gets used often, but usually for cleaning: rusty, stuck, sticky(work wonders on most adhesives from stickers). I use marvel when a light oil is warranted.
would love to hear ken's ideas here.he always has awesome tips/advice.
totally agree with you Xuzme
all too often we are out of the "Right Stuff", empty can, in our home shop so we grab and use something that has dire consequences later.
I've seen some use WD40 for everything from lubing their clocks to spraying on/in bait for sturgeon fishing.

ouch! on clocks? well, I guess it would work, for a little while. most clocks use a light mineral oil for lubrication, even lighter than marvel. hope it was a big clock!
Very nice but not helpful at all if your not a broadband user since the ISOs are so large.
Do what i did and email a friend who lives close by with broadband connection . It should only take 20mins and then transport back on a cd and burn away on nero using I.S.O. function onto the same disk . Works if you got no fast connection.

was wondering how you did that on a mobile connection. figured I'd ask later after your trans troubles were solved.
This is the same as any normal connection but restricted to 57.6 kb/s. Broadband is not possible where i live except through satellite which i will have in a few weeks (handy when your a satellite engineer, any help needed in this is welcome but would need to change forums i think!)
Once your friend has downloaded the file for you (99% of people know someone with fast connection) you can phisicaly go round for coffee or tea or a beer in my case and put download from his or her pc on to disk!
So free download, free beer, exercise what more can you ask for ! :-)
I live only 90 mins away from a major city, (Toronto) however my connection consists of 2 paper cups and a piece of string. No really, on a good day I can get 28kbps, and thats it. Hard to believe after going from broad band to that, still it allows me an excuse to play in the garage while it's downloading, (8 hours for the ford CD and it's 38% done, only another 2 days and I'll be able to see it, just as well I'm away at work for that time). One day Singhampton will join civilization, untill then I can look forward to the ploughing competition, yipee.
