F-250 is it really a true f-250 or a heavy duty 150??? Truck is great only 65,000 on it, pretty clean I like it alot...Just trying to get info on it....Thanks ......Jimmy
Welcome aboard the good ship FTE. I'm sure a cruise director will be by to welcome you soon but you have definitly come to the right place for answers.
I realize that the 250 is a 3/4 ton but if you have seen the 98 you will understand why i'am asking this question... The 1997 250 has the older body style and the 1999 has the super duty body style...My 98 has f-150 sheet metal.....I might be wrong but don't 250's have 8 lug axle's??? The 98 I have has 7 lugs and is rated to tow 8600lbs.....Just trying to pick the brains of you Ford pros....Thanks for any info.........Jimmy
Your truck is an F-250 Light Duty. If you go in for parts that's what you need to tell them.
It's different than an F-250 HD or SD. The last year for the old style F-250 was 1997, the first year for the new style F-250 Super Duty was 1999. In 2000 (I think) they changed the name of your type of truck to an F-150 7700. It's the same thing.
Your truck is an F-150 on steroids.
If you do a search in here you'll find quite a bit more info on it.
I did a search for some info but didn't turn to much up...Actually went to the galleries there were only 3 trucks in there....I'll try another search with some different wording.....I even went on ebay to see if there were any but there was only 1....Jimmy
If you have any questions about your 250LD or a 7700, I'll do my best to give you an answer. I just have to be on the board more than once in five months.
