getting 16ft lumber home?

The six foot bracket..............

The six foot bracket sounds like a great idea, any chance of a picture? I think I'll get my buddy the welder to fab one up for me.

If I'm getting other stuff at the lumber yard I put it on top of the 16 footers to keep them from lifting at the front of the bed. I've also rested them on top of the cab with a furniture blacket under them with good results and no apparent damage. Tie down the load well and buy ratchet straps if you don't know how to make a trucker's hitch or another suitable knot.

They can't do that because they don't have the ladder anymore. You see, it fell out on the way home and they never noticed. When they got home and got out of the truck they discovered it was missing. By the time they back-tracked looking for it someone else had found it and loaded it in the back of their hatchback Escort and took it on home with them. Probably a roofer. Hee hee.
