Vibration Question
Hi to all, my first post.
Just bought a 1995 F-150 inline 6 5-speed. (Major upgrade for me)
I'm slowly getting all the bugs out and getting it set up the way I like it. I have a vibration when I hold my speed in around 60 kph (40 mph). It's like a thumping from the driveline. It stops if I decelerate, and lessens if I step into it a bit. It doesn't matter if I'm in 3rd or 4th, it's always at the same speed.
My u-joints feel tight, but the carrier bearing is my suspect. I know from searching this site that it's rubber mounted. Should I be able to move the shaft 1/2" side to side in the rubber mount?(Rubber monut gives freely) I will probably change it anyway, but thought I'd run it by y'all.
Thanks for your input.
