VSS Gone

My truck has 60k miles on it. I thought that for $26 it wasn't worth trying to clean it.
With regard to taking it out, I just carefully but forcefully wiggled it out. First side to side and then pulling it out. You know the best angle to get at this is from in front of the dif. Right above where the drive train goes into it.
As I loosened it, bits of dirt and rust broke off so I had to be very careful that those peices didnt fall into the tranny.

But rrevsg answered exactlly how it should be done,as he said the key is not to let anything fall in.
