Automatic Transmission Linkage

I Have A 93 Bronco With Automatic Transmission. When I Last Went To Put It In Drive The Gear Lever About Fell Off The Steering Column. I Have Taken The Steering Column Housing Off To Get A Better Look At Where The Problem Is, But It Isn't Juming Out At Me Right Away. I Looked At A Generic Parts Diagram For The Transmission Linkage And Don't See Exactly Where I Should Be Tracing The Problem To.

Any Ideas Will Be Most Appreciated.

If your shift lever moves freely it may have become disconnected down at the tranny. There should be a rod from the column to the tranny that connects to a float piece coming off the tranny itself. (man I hope that was clear) Try following the rod up to make sure it hasn't become disconnected somewhere along the line.
