Got it all apart and replaced the flexplate - chipped some teeth and the starter wouldn't engage. Got it all together now, including a new starter. Tried to start it last night and once running it made a loud whirring sound, like metal on metal. I'm going to check the starter to make sure it is the same dimensions as the one I removed. Any other thoughts?
Got it running...had to charge the battery and clean terminals. So now it has a metallic flutter for a few seconds after starting - like the starter isn't disengaging...could it be anything else?
