I think the part # is 88088 or something like that. Description is - "weatherstripping adhesive". Comes in a red and white tube like toothpaste only bigger.

I can check the part # at home tonight............

Put it on the door/whatever and on the weatherstripping. Let it set up for about 15 minutes, reaply a thin coat on the weatherstripping again and put it in place......

3-M also makes a spray weatherstrip adhesive which I have used successfully. In addition to weatherstrip it can be used to attach the rolled aluminum insulation. I don't know the part number. If you stick with any of
3-M's products I don't think you can go wrong.

Agree. Is what I used. Works great. Comes in black or yellow.

Completely agree. Thats what we use for all kinds of things on vehicles (trim, emblems, etc.) not just weatherstripping. 3M makes good stuff.

Odd name though....minnesota mining and manufacturing.

O.k.,

3M part # 08008

description is "super weatherstrip adhesive"

and 08008 gets you the manly black colour.

You should be able to get it through any really good autoparts chain.

The tube is big enough to get through one F1 and a 58 Cadillac 4 door, maybe two. (no I don't have a 58 Caddy, I don't have Axracer's money).

There ya go,

yellow! affectionately known as "gorilla snot"! Do yourself and your fingers (and some other parts you might touch) a favor and pick up a container of weather stripping adhesive remover when you pick up the adhesive, it can become a big mess in a hurry.

Sorry Ax, but I have to dissagree. Use the black. The yellow peeking out from behind the rubber is very obvious and a little tacky. (Pun intended) I would only use the yellow on a yellow vehicle. I wish every after-market product worked as great as 3M's adhesive. Good luck, Jag

I was only refering to the yellow color giving it it's common name, it was the only color it came in until fairly recently. I too use the black. When I didn't see it on the shelf with the adhesives at my local NAPA store I asked where it was. The clerk asked if I wanted such and such or "gorilla snot", he knew it by the same name!
