I have a 92 E-150 van and the blower doesn't work at all. I hooked it directly to the battery and it works perfectly fine in all speeds. So, I found the blower relay and the relay was melted as well as the socket. The relay is found in the power distribution box under the hood on the driver's side. I put a new relay in the socket, but the blower still doesn't work. I am sure that it is not getting a good connection. So back to my question. Is it possible to pull the old socket out or is the whole box one piece? It looks that I should be able to take out the old socket and rewire a new one either in the same place or off to the side. Is this possible? I need some help! Thankls.

I use a small file to clean the connections in the socket. You don't want to spread the prongs in there much so the file needs to be the size of one of the blades that normally goes into that socket.
