Anybody remember the Portable Cone of Silence? It was way too big to fit in the Sunbeam's trunk, but that's where he carried it. I wonder how Larabee and Hymie are taking Max's passing?
I was just thinking about all this the other day. I wish I had a collection of the shows on DVD. There were some paperback "Get Smart" books out too, but I only ever had one of them.
One of the funniest parts of the Siegfried episodes was Stieger getting corrected for stuff...
"Ziss - It's CHAOS!!! Ve don'tBOOGIE VOOGIE here!!!"
Yeah, Big Orn, that's a toughie for most people. For those who care, Don Adams modeled the Maxwell Smart character (primarily the voice) after William Powell's Nick Charles character from the "Thin Man" series of detective movies. Some classy yet funny films from the 30s.
Love the Thin Man series. I can see the comparison of the voices. The best William Powell film, though IMO, was Life With Father. Myrna Loy was very pretty, too.
Forgot about him being the voice of Tennessee Tuxedo. I used to really dig those. I always wished there was a Mr. Whoopee I could consult about tough stuff.
