is it possible to convert disc/drum brakes to abs? the brakes on my truck seem to act kinda silly. sometimes the work, sometimes you press the pedal harder and they lock. it's kinda hard to explain, but something tells me there not right
Well now anything is possible but I don't think you would want to try it. Lot$ of $limy worm$ in that can. It is better to just fix the brake system you have. Have you checked any of the brake topics in the suspension forum?
All,
Listen to me now and I'll tell you again later!
Don't ever put ABS on anything. Remove it if possible.
ABS is not the blessing that it has been presented as.
I have worked in testing for GM and test results consistently show that ABS doesn't perform. Braking distances will be increased every time with ABS. If you can drive, you don't need ABS.
73-79 Ford truck brakes are some of the best ever built and are a definite strong point for owning a Ford truck.
Fix'em or die trying.
