Everyone is going to have their favorite. After reading the different posts here for the almost a year I purchased a Diablo Prediator. From everything I read it works very well and very few people had problems with it.

I've run mine on both the 65hp and the 100hp mode and find personally I get the best milage in 100hp mode so I leave mine there. The biggest problem is keeping my lead foot out of the throttle.

I ran a Superchips Max Tuner in my 02 7.3 Excursion for over 120K miles and it was trouble free. I just installed a Superchips unit on my 06 F-350 6.0 and it's been flawless for the fist 2,000 miles.

Jeff,

The newest one out is the Evolution by Edge, we have sold a lot of them and customers love them. It has transmission controls that you can adjust to make it shift based on your needs and this protects the transmission from potential HP damage too. Also has 0-60 and 1/4er mile elasped timers, and allows you to monitor most of the engine parameters through the OBDII port while you drive etc.

Call us if you have any questions etc.

Say Bye Bye to Warranty

Jeff,
Just so you know, add a chip (or tuner) and say good bye to your engine/trans warranty. If you don't believe me, read the sticker under your hood. Or better yet call the dealer and tell them you have a blown engine with a tuner and see what happens.
Sorry, I don't mean to sound like a smart a$$ but Ford's Warranty does not allow for the use of "performance enhancement devices"

That is simply nonsensical nonsense (wow, double negative there) =o)

Since when is anything so cut and dry?

Some dealers SELL superchips (and other) tuners and regularly service vehicles with them.
Others shy away from something as silly as an air filter.

If you use a tuner, you can set it back to stock at anytime.
Unless you TELL the dealer it was there, they will not know.

Find a modification friendly dealer.

Hell, with the 03 Cobra fiasco, some people had their warranty denied for "too much" tire wear in too few miles.
Others had warranty service performed with a Kenne Bell blower, longtube headers, and straight axle conversion.

It all depends on the individual dealer...

Jeff,

You don't have to believe anything you read here. Just check with Ford and find out for yourself. Like I say, just look under your hood, there's a warning sticker right there about it. And yes, Ford can tell if you used a performance enhancement device, even if you remove it later.
Now that doesn't mean they will deny you all coverage under all circumstances but it does mean that if you modify your truck that way and the head gasket blows or some drive train part fails, it will be Ford's decision as to weather or not to honor your warranty. Not yours or mine or anyone else commenting on this form.

Once you've done that, you've won a large part of the battle right there.

I know where there is at least one mod-friendly dealer

I've got a 100 dollar bill that says otherwise, if you would like to come to the Carolinas for me to prove you wrong

There are times I wish I was still in the NC area still to have one-on-one conversations with Mr. PSD. I'll bet I could learn more from him over a night at the bar then i could anywhere else in a single night

Let's see, with the current price of Diesel here in Calif., $100 bucks should just about get me to the Arizona border

Check with which Ford?
The dealer?
FoMoCo?

Do you work for Ford, BTW?
You seem to be passionate about this....

I don't care what FoMoCo says.
I care what my service advisor says and does.

Not to mention, despite some dealers best efforts, they can't tell if a programmer has been installed, as long as it has been set back to stock before going through service.

You either work for Ford or are suffering from extreme paranoia.
I'm not picking on you, you are trying to make something cut and dry that just isn't that way.

About what?
Tuning or Hardware?

MAYBE tuning and research, but certainly not hardware.

When it comes to hardware, you talk over my head.
