hey guys,
the axel seals in my 77 f150 started leaking so i was going to pull them and take them to a mechanic to have him replace the bearings and seals but the passenger side axel wont pull out like the drivers side did. and yes i took off all the nuts. any suggestions?

I guess they make a tool of some kind to do it, but to get stubborn axles out I bolt a length of heavy chain to it. You can use a muffler clamp to hook a piece to the hole you reach through to pull the nuts off that hold the retainer. Then just leave a little slack in it and "whip" the chain by the other end. The weight of the chain acts like a puller when the slack snaps out of it.

 

since you have one out you can use a long piece of rebar or what have you and put it in through the other side to drive it out.mudder trucker.
