I have a few questions. I don't want to go down the MAF path, due to it seeming more work than what I want.
I have a EFI 460 BTW.
One question is, I saw comp cams, made a specific cam for the Speed Density computer, that wasn't agressive. With a thing like Tweecer, will I be able to go to more of a aggressive cam?
Basiclly with Tweecer, It would eliminate the need for a chip, correct? Since I could basiclly tune it instead of using a chip?
Would my best bet be IF I can find a shop around here that tunes to take my truck there instead? I'm guessing it will be a similar price to tweecer, and they could dyno tune it, etc. Only thing that I don't like about this is everytime I would add a new part I would have to throw down another $400 or so to get it tuned.
I think they do work with non MAF. I've heard a few people talk about them tuning non MAF's, and the Tweecer contact person I e-mailed said they would IIRC.
But if they do tune non-MAF, in theory everything I said above would most likely be right, correct?
But if they don't tune non-MAF, what would be the next best option for tuning other than going to MAF?
The DA1 is a speed density computer from the 87-88 mustangs, IS supported by the tweecer, usually available on ebay, and has sequential injection. The wiring is very similar to the A9P(MAF) wiring so you will still need to adjust your wiring at the 60 pin connector. fordfuelinjection.com has the wiring info.
Also, if you're going to do your own tuning, there isn't as much tuning info for the speed density computers like there is for the MAF computers. If anyone knows of any links or where to get info, please let me know. I'm wingin it right now.
