Idle air control motor, ignition module

I have a 89 F-250, 351, 5spd. What is the correct procedure to clean the idle control motor? My truck is doing all kinds of different things, running to rich, idling to low, stalling alot. I figure i could clean it at least, one more thing to knock off the list.

I also noticed to today that if i lightly wiggle the connecter on my ignition module while its running, it shuts off, a couple times I had to wiggle it again to get it to start back up, my friend borrowed it a couple months ago and it let him sit for about a half hour, I guess this explains that problem, would that be in the connector or the module? I have not had the codes checked yet, but I am planning on it as the check engine light comes on a lot lately, i drove buy the garage tonight, but the guy wasn't there. I don't have a lot of money to throw at this, so I am hoping to get this right. Would the ignition module cause all of the above problems, like a slight miss which i didn't notice until I wiggled the connector today.

Thanks for any info you can give me, I know i need to get the codes read, and I will this week, but I am looking for your opinions to hold me over until then, thanks, Dan

To clean the IAC just pop it off and go to town on it with carb cleaner. On the TFI pull off the plug and inspect it, make sure there is no corrosion or broken/loose pins, and then just for good measure clean it with electrical contact cleaner.

ignition module

do check the module, however, do see if you can get the system to throw a code, I had a similiar issue, inside the distributor the PIP was bad and the ing. mod. was showing a code of 14 which could be a bad module or a bad PIP.
I replaced the module and same issue, truck would just stop, replaced the distributor and the issue went away.
