I would pick up a spring tubing bender to bend the brake lines, it helps them keep thier shape. If the car parts store doesn't have one then try the hardware store, I saw a set in Home Depot last week. They are real easy to use.
As for bleeding the brakes, start with the bleeder furthest from the master cylinder and work your way closer. They do make 1 man bleeder kits if you don't have someone to help. Let us know if you need instructions on how to bleed them.
I had a line go out in my 93 F150 last week. Just as I pulled in a parking lot the pedal bottomed out, that was after 3 hours of highway and county road driving (thankful I went to church last week!).
The line I had to replace was the one that ran from the right front to the left front.
A fair amount of bending and some time with the double flairing tool. You could run it with two separate lines if you don't want to flare the lines yourself and just put a coupler in-between. The fix ran about $10.00 with fluid. It took about 2 hours total.
The hardest part-
Cracking open bleeder valves that hadn't been open in a while (6 point socket and PB Blaster got it).
well of course i got into it w/ all your help... i fixed the leak w/ line from napa. & of couse the next weakest section blew. fixed that, & next spot went. needless to say i have all new brake lines. done in the driveway no less. that sucked but napa had a great selection of lines. fittings , & the tools you all suggested. normally i wouldn't napa my money as they are pricey as hell, but i have to say i got this done for under $150. try paying a garage that for the work done. 1 bit of advice i'd offer--- DO NOT ask the wife to help in the bleeding process. pay the garage to do the job. it's cheaper than the lawyer you will need for the divorce. thanks alot guys .

hahahahahahahahaha
that is why i said have a friend help you bleed the brakes. next time listen to me.
Hey guys, just to add something. someone mentioned the one-man brake bleeder kit. I bought one last week and did my other car. Hand vacum pump w/ adaptors and 4oz. filler cup thing. I seem to be always by myself on all past cars over the years. It cost about 60 bucks but all worth it. Pump at each end, and move on. Can also use the vacum pump for testing vacum stuff as well. You only get one chance to open up/loosen brake lines, and bleeders. Thats the pain part....
that sounds like a worthy investment. i'd like to know whre you found that tool. i didnt mention in the 1st post that im disabled & that i live in a place surrounded by elderly ppl. not alot of ppl that could help besides my wife, & that was a disaster. lol. agian thanks to all that replied
ty alot daj for the heads up. i like the vac checking abilities. all the info i got on this thread was really helpfull. and thanks to everyone for their help. i know where to come for advice
