Compass pointing me towards insanity
OH! How the mighty can be defeated by the simplest things..
6 months ago I bought my 99 EB and have loved it! I never really used the compass in the console much, was too busy watchign my mileage numbers (ugh!). So the other night, I put it to Compass mode, while heading West. I know this because if I went much further west, would be in the Gulf Of Mexico. Compass says EAST. Hmm.. so I drive back home, compass saying WEST, and hop on here, print out the reset instructions and head to target to do my circles.
Do my circles, and wow.. still says the same thing. Push the paperclip in again, do more slower circles.. watching the thing reset. Cop asks me what I am doing and laughs as he drives off. Thing still says East when driving west.
So I do what every mechanic does, and look for a bigger hammer. Actually I knock the thing off the mirror while bangign my head agaisnt the wheel. THAT is when I realise, the thing was right, it was just on backwards!!!
AHHHH! So, from now on, my first step will be Make sure unit is attached correctly before troubleshooting.
Some days its not worth sneaking out of the asylum!
