Welcome to FTE!

You won't get it with with the camper package. That pkg includes helper springs and an anti-sway bar. I am not sure whether you get it with the plow package buy my guess is no. You will get the heavy service front springs though.

You can get the Rancho SS package for around $50. It includes a 5000 and mounting brackets. Pretty simple to install too. FWIW, the FX4 package also comes with some great rock shields for the xfer case and gas tank.

I have an '04 w/ plow prep and w/o FX4 that does have the stabilizer. Not sure if it's changed in the newer trucks or not.

At work I have seen a stabilizer on the 2004s with the plow prep package. I will double check with the 2005s on Monday (if I remember).

Just go to the ford webiste. Do a "build your truck" and it will tell you what you get with each package. Takes 5 mins, but then you start wanting a new truck. Oh, oh, oh.......the itch! Help!

I believe the rule was that if you had ANY upgraded front suspension, you got the stabilizer.

My '01 has "heavy service suspension" and came with the stabilizer because of it.

If you have a plow package, you have VERY stiff springs and it will probably come with it. Otherwise, tell the dealer to MAKE SURE It does, or they can install it later FREE.

I checked at work on a 2006 F250 4x4 with the plow package. It is not an FX4. It DOES HAVE the steering stabalizer. Hope that helps.

Anything with heavier than "standard" front suspension is going to have the stabilizer.

That includes plow package, heavy-service suspension, etc.

Try to get one without the stabilizer from Ford. That way it's easier to put a real one on. The ford one is crapola. I got a dual stabilizer with way bigger shocks for less than a hundred bucks delivered off ebay.

No idea...

I've been reading everything I can about SD's since 2001 - the only times I've seen/read-about the stabilizer is when the front springs are not the base "S" springs.

I've got "T" springs from the heavy-service suspension package and have the stabilizer.

I would imagine if the camper package came with stiffer front-springs, it would have the stabilizer, but this is all conjecture.

My 05 has the camper package and FX4. I don't have a steering stabilizer. That may not mean anything though,my truck was on the lot and the person that ordered it had a strange sense of humor. Brake controller, but no tow mirrors. Had to get those off ebay.

Anyway I hope that helps, and I hope this post makes the site stop telling me I haven't posted in over two weeks!
