more hp

i am looking to stroke my 460 to like a 513 or more. i have never done anything this high hp before and was wondering what you all suggest as in stroker kit, cam, heads, and carb. my truck is a 1978 F-250 regular cab longbed it rolls on 44 ground hawgs. i already have the c6 and the drivetrain built for my goal of at least 600+hp i looked into turbos and blowers but would like to stay all motor for now.

I'm no expert on what you all want, but I do know there is a wealth of information here. If you haven't done so already, play around with the 'search' function, using different terms to get the info you're looking for.

Ditto, this has been covered dozens of times here. If you want advice on your particular build it would be helpful to know what your budget is and what you plan to do with the truck. A build for a truck that is driven on the street daily will be different than someone building a race/competition rig that will only see high RPM's and short runs.

Fast and easy buy a ford 514 crate motor (they are actually a 521 but won't go there)comes out of the crate with 600+ hp, and with nothing more than a cam change can make 700 hp on nothing but motor.

Ok tim make me feel bad for my short post.
I guess a lot of what I am saying is if you want a real easy setup look at the specs of the 514 crate engine from Ford, and you will get a good recipe for a 600+ hp big block with no troubles.
The basics are this you can get a 4.14 stroke crank, and bore .080 over giving you a 512 cid I personally don't like this option due to that much overbore making the cyl walls thin or can.
Better option is a 4.3" stroke crank, you can get these from both Eagle, and Scat as well as several other places. truth is almost all of these aftermarket cranks are cast, and machined at the same facility in China with almost no options there although I have heard that Scat actually owns thier own casting facility in China.
Rods use 6.8" rods from either of the above companies both are pretty good once again all cast in the same plant, but I feel that the eagle, and scat rods have a better job of machining and consistancy than some of the cheaper brands do.
Pistons are easy you have lots of choices from Diamond, JE, Ross, and Probe to name a few all carry them as a shelf stocking piston in forged I think that you can also get some hyperetics too but I never look at them so can't tell you who if anyone actually carries them.
Heads I am assuming your wanting to go with aftermarket alum heads, and for most builds I would suggest the TFS street heads they are a very good casting, and can be made even better with some port work, these are the heads that I suggested to Ivan, and he is running on his engine. Other good options are the motorsport SCJ heads designed by Jon Kaase these are nice units also but do require a specific piston or cutting different valve reliefs due to a revised cant to the valves. Another option if your not wanting to buy these right now is Kaase is coming out with a revised version of the SCJ head later this year that is supposed to have some tremendous flow out of the box, and according to him will be priced lower than the motorsport heads (he has had some problem with Ford, and is rather ticked so take advantage of it when you can). These are all for street driven or medium build race engines. If you want to go with an all out race engine you can look at the A460s these are just short of an all out prostock race head, and are the ones I am running on a approx 800hp 528cid big block.
I will tell you these strokers really benifit from roller cams they need to breath, and if you can afford it that is the way to go, specs would really depend on exactly what you go with, and how you plan on using it.
Same type of thing with the intakes but NOTHING short of a performer RPM, and I feel that is too small of an intake on a 500+cid engine. these strokers don't seem to have a problem running victor intakes and have enough cid to not totally kill the bottem end but if you looking for a grunt engine then a Stealth or rpm intakes are a better choice.
Carb once again actual size of engine your planning on, cam that you go with, and intended rpms of the engine will make the decsision as to what you need for a carb.
Hope this helps answer your questions.

Dang Rob, don't your fingers ever get tired?

Pro is running a 512-514 (don't remember exact CI) with Reincarnation heads, a Stealth intake, 930? cfm Holley race carb and a cam (hydro) but that's about it. He's got 612 horse. That motor screams. It doesn't take too much to get 600 horse out of these engines.
