Are you sure about the year and the engine? The 352 was introduced to the pickup in 65. The 292 would have been the V8 for 64. I think the Dana front axle was the same for several years.

You may want to do a search on this, I don't remenber who it was now, be he showed how he had put a Toyota steering box mounted though the frame on a 64 4wd. Are you sure about the engine? 352's came out in 65, maybe a transplant.
Flaf100/460 did a Toyota bax on a 64 straight axle, look at his pictures to see if this will work on a 4wd. I use the Toyota box on my 66 4wd, but the 64 and the 66 are differant. The 64 straight axle set-up my work.
I have looked at several setups and I think the power steering setup off of a 73-75 4x4 ford pu might work they have the same front axle. They use a slave clyinder. Hard to find a good used one though.

4x4 was pretty much unchanged to 67, so ID of year is sometimes tough. PS swaps from later trucks as jack mentions will not work.
Best way to get PS in a 4x4 61-66 is to buy a 72-79 4x4 and a 65-66 4x2 and move the front clip, cab and box over to the later truck. You can get disc brakes, better rear end, newer engine etc etc. IMHO.......
To me it looked like they use the same axle on a 64 as a 75 They each have the the round ball (cannot remember the technical term) on each end of the front driveshaft. Maybe it was called a knuckle. Then on the 76 and up they went to the ujoint setup?
It looked like to me to make the switch you would need the steering column, gear box, pitman arm (the 75 pitman arm bolted on the top of the ball barcket just like the 64 pitman arm did) hoses and the valve plus you would need to attach a bracket on the front differential housing for the slave cylinder. I think it would work and you could stay true blue to ford parts.
Another idea I had was to use the front end off of a 77-79 250. Because you could stay with the leaf spring setup. Once again you would need the steering column, gear box (the f250 is rotates different then the f150) pittman arm, and the whole front axle and housing setup. If you are trying to keep your truck as original as possible that would not work.
On my 64 4x4 I ended up cutting out the front stock axle and lead springs and welded in the front off of a 4x4 f150 custom. I now have disc brakes and power steering plus I put in a tilt wheel. I am really happy with the switch. I left the fenders and cab on while I was doing this. I started in July and it is on the road now. I am really happy with it. When I bought the truck it already had a 84 c6 and transfer case in it so the frame had been cut. I would not want to do this modification to an original 64 4x4 that was still stock. But I love the 64 style and I plan on using this truck until I am an old man and they pry my cold dead hands off of the steering wheel. (hopefully my welds hold)
