spark plug condition
on my 1964 223 i was looking at the plugs. #1 and #2 plugs look good (chocolate brown) then #3and #4 look like they are bruning rich (black) #5 looks good and then #6 looks almost lean (vary light brown). Is this typical? Or is something going on whith my valves and or carborator?

Inline engines tend to run a bit rich in the middle and lean on the ends. This is just the nature of the intake system. I think a compression test would tell you more and a tune up with a couple of hundred miles on the road will give you a better reading. Really sounds typical to me!
