Question Different P0171 & P0174 Question!

I've got an 2000 5.0L Mountaineer that has intermintent driving issues. The most common is when the truck is up to temp and I turn left is will stall out for a second. It has done this a dozen times over the last 6 months and completed died twice. This has only happened on left turns never on a right turn.

Once last year and this week it has shown the same miss but while driving on the highway and only when I let off the accelerator. It has no power for a second or two then the power comes back. This did this to me on a 700 mile trip this week from Nebraska to Texas. If I let the truck cool off for an hour or so it would drive fine for about 50 miles and then the miss would return. If i stopped while the problem was happening it would have amolst no power until I could get it up to about 30mph and then it would just take off until I let off the accelerator.

The interesting thing is that my computer display showed I had used 21 gallons of gas but when I filled up it only took 15 gallons. Another fillup on this trip showed 20 gallons used and it only took about 18 to fill up.

Does anyone know what the computer looks at to determine how much gas is beign used to show on the display. If I can find this out I hope I can narrow down my P0171 & P0174 codes. I just got a fuel pressure gage and right now the fuel pressure is normal at 44psi. I'm just waiting for the problem to resuface so I can use the gauge again and rule out the fuel pump and pressure regulator. Other than that I'm thinking that it might be the MAF. I have cleaned it a couple of time but the problem still persist.

Thanks for any help that any one can give me
