Okay so here is my idea... I have a 1990 F150 single cab. I am about to replace the bench seat with buckets to leave room to put a custom sub box between them. I am also making rear speaker mounts for the rear to have something in the rear to fill in the sound a little. Just curious to see if anyone had ever seen this and had any suggestions on what box type to use. I was thinking a sealedbox with two tens. One in the box and one surface mounted facing in towards the box. Any input would be appreciated.
I did an old style lightning last year
kinda similar
reg cab with buckets
I relocated the factory center console forward about 4 inches
and built a custom enclosure the same height mating to the back
of the console and slanting toward the rear window (for SQ reasons)
the box itself was Kinda T shaped--it extended a few inches behind each seat
sealed box -one 12" woofer
Im having trouble picturing in my mind exactly the box idea your thinking up
but a little advice-- sealed box can 'generally' be smaller and more foregiving
than the alternative styles. And as a starting point - try sampling a box in your truck 1st. have a friend place his box still wired in your truck see
how it sounds\where it sounds good\direction etc...
also keep in mind that (just as example) one quality woofer setup properly and powered properly will sound better than 2 cheap woofers not setup or powered right
Yes maybe I should have been a little more precise. I am making the area where the console went into a box. It will be covered in vinyl and fiberglassed in to make a smoth appearance. I have all quality components that are going in there because my roomate woorks in a car stereo shop. JBL subs and MAc amps
