C6 Noise
well i bought this 71 F250 camper special in cali about 3 months ago and drove from cali to mississippi towing a 16 foot camper trailer thats about 2300 miles and it pulled great till it burned up some tranny fluid and started to make a poping noise i would pull over and fill it up and the noise would go away. since i have had the time and money i have down a transmission fluid and filter change also i have replaced the modulater. it shifts fine and catchs first and reverse with little rev'ing. but when i get hard on it it starts to make a poping sound just wondering if anyone else has had this problem in the past ? and yes the transmission fluid is full at this time.

I'm no trranny expert by any means, but it sounds like perhaps one of the bearing races has gotten a little sloppy or worn. Might I suggest you post this up on the transmission board. Since I rebuilt my own trans, when I needed a few parts that were not in the rebuild kit, I found a little local trans shop with some great "good-ole" boys. If I have a problem, I just stop by for an "unofficial" diagnosis. Usually costs nothing or a case of beer
