Got a question for you Ford truck electrical nerds. I'd like to stall the converter from lockin up a little bit longer, b/c right now as it is, if I'm doin over 35 MPH, it will shift into 3rd and the torque converter will lock up at the same time, pullin the engine down almost 1100 RPM. If I put my foot on the brake it will unlock the converter, and then I let off, it will lock up.
My question is, what wires, if any, could be tapped into to allow me to lockup the torque converter when desired? I'd like for it to lockup around 45 MPH so that it doesnt bogg the engine down...
BTW, I have a 95 f-150 with a 351 and E4OD tranny...
The OD button will take it out of overdrive, but if i step on the brake lightly with my foot still on the gas anywhere past 2nd gear, the torque converter will unlock also.
Yea, as you accelerate thru all gears, keep your foot lightly on the brake, enough to turn your brake light on. Keep it out of overdrive. Once you're up to about 50, with ur foot still on the brake slightly, turn OD back on, and then after that take your foot off the brake.
Anyone have any ideas on how to tap into the computer to disable lockup unless I want it to?
