i ran cleaner though my f150 toclean the cooling system. It said to drive the truck for 8 hours with the cleaner and water in the system. I ran it longer than that and it started to overheat on me while sitting in traffic. When i checked the resivior it was bone dry. It has did this one other time with antifreeze in it this summer, but i only drive the truck on the weekends, could this be a head gasket craked block or what else could be the problem and is there anyway of troubleshooting this myself?
no, i filled it completely up and then let it warm up, while it was warming it spit some out the top, then the thermostat opened and it sucked it all in and i added more till it was full
