Has anyone used Accel Spark Plug Wires, if so what are your comments on them?

They say that they are to incresse your Gas Mileage that has to be bs I have never heard of a spark plug wire doing that.

From: Destin/Ft. Walton Beach,
I bouight 2 sets of Accel plug wires on eBay for two of my old trucks. They seemed to work OK, and they came with silicone lube to make the boots slide easier. When trying to do a tune up a year later, the ends pulled right off 6 out of 16 plug wires (the spark plug end). I contacted the company that makes them, but never heard back from them. No more Accel wires in my future, nor any other Accel product.

I think the hardest Ford engine on Plug wires is the 300 Six.
I had three of them.
I used Accell at one time or another, and never noticed any difference at all.
I had the best luck with NAPA stuff.
As far as fuel milages is concerned, unless you had a reall bad set of wires and replaced them with a good set, you'll never notice any change in your fuel milages with new plug wires.
New plug wires will help the fuel milage a little, but a whole lot more with the running and starting of your engine, if you change all that stuff out at the same time.
That alone will get you some better milage as you wont be using the throttle pump so much in starting the engine.
Cap, (rotor, points n Capacitor if you have the old Kettering ignition) wires n' plugs.
I learned that the hard way. And had to apologize to my wife over it too.

The Fuel hog is the carburator (and the driver).
On my Ford V-8's and the three Six's, the hardest problem to beat was the choke being partly closed.
On the three Six's the part of the Carb with the Throttle plate actually wore out. Became larger, and cause a poor mixture and atomizing. I had to buy new carb's, or used in one case, and that picked the milage back up to 13-15 Mpg.

Make sure your vacuam is good, the Choke is adjusted, timing and span of advance is right and the compression is good, and you'll be getting the very best the factory engineers could get to you.

As far as fuel milage goes, my personal dream, and if I were younger I'd be going after it right now too, is to fit one of the older engines with the newer F.I. with a Computer.
It'a already out there in the Junk yards, or in used cars folks are wanting to sell cheap.

In my opinion, the Fed's should be backing some kind of program to develop a better fuel milage upgrade for our old trucks.
We are such a political Minority though.....

As part of an overall tuneup (plugs, wires, fuel & air filters, etc.) new plug wires can help you save a little gas. If, however, you are hoping for a noticeable difference between using Accel wires over another brand, then you will be disappointed.

The best Ford OEM replacement plug wires are Motorcraft. Napa carries Beldon wires and CarQuest has Prestolite wires which look exactly like the Motorcrafts and are probably made at the same place. The advantage of buying the MC wires is that they are always an exact fit, whereas the Napa and Carquest sets will sometimes have a few wires that are longer than the originals.

Yep, I forgot the filters. In Alaska I always seemd to have water in the fuel filter.
Changing oil n' Filter ever 3000 miles kept my Ford's whisper quiet and starting good too.
