sierraben, women with "their crapola" damn if that ain't the truth, the wifey "War Department" only has a wallet. When she worked at Safeway (2020 Market St.) started work at 5:00 AM she carried a Mini 5 shot .22 Freedom Arms thing. I carried a Buck 110 but lost it after 20 years of service. Have a "cheapie" for now. 9mm count?

carry aschrade/uncle henry three blade for work and a gerber 2" light weight for dress due to the compact size and weight. Feel naked w/o either one if left @ home. The gerber has proven itself time & again for the size. Plus i collect other knives of all kinds too.

For those of you that carry the Leatherman/Gerber type multi-purpose tools, which brand do you prefer?
I'm just curious.
I have the Leatherman, and my father, brother, and B-i-l all have Gerbers. I prefered the Gerber over the Leatherman, but not enough to swap until I found a recent model. It has interchanable pliers (too useful), Gerber Evolution, military tech kit.
Two of the reasons I prefer the Gerber, The blades lock in posistion (ever had one fold on you) and my father had to have a blade replaced under warranty (saw blade, and they offered him the choice of new or they would rebuild it).
Very small Swiss army knife on the key chain everyday along with the very small LED flashlight. When camping I carry a multi tool with separable tool packs so you can use more than one tool at a time (VERY useful feature) and a large Swiss army knife.
sierraben, I used to get off the street car one block before Casto Street, that area was jumpin during Halloween, a self guided freak show every day.

Well I had a sweet Spyderco for a few years, but then I lost it and now I carry a cheap-o $3 Frost. It seems that the more the knife costs, the easier it is to lose.
My main knife is a Spyderco Ladybug -- yeah, not a manly name, but work has a 3" blade limit and this thing is light and handy with the serrated edge. I currently have 120 pocket and hunting knives (hobby I picked up from my Grandpa ), my latest one being a Buck Metro, which is a neat lil' knife.
