Hi everybody, I'm new to the forum.
I posted a question about the door lock rod between the actuator and lock cylinder in the passenger side of my 87 Bronco. I posted it in the '87-96 F-Series' section. I don't know which forum to post it in because they are the same doors, so I'm just going to post a link to that post in here. Hopefully someone will be able to help me.
Speaking of door locks Does anyone have a good idea to replace the old worn out rubber that protects the lock motor?
I've checked around and cannot seem to find any replacement for this thin rubber boot. I 'm open to any ideas before this worn out boot causes a premature failure of the motor.

I've never seen them for sale separately. Probably because you would have to take the actuator out anyway to get to the boot, which can be a PITA although I've done it a few times and can do it easily now, so you may as well replace the whole thing. I still always cut up my forearm though, getting into that tight spot. But if the boot is torn then the actuator is probably on it's way out anyway and you would do better to just replace it. You could go to the boneyard and probably find many of the boots, and many torn ones among them. The actuators have come down a lot in price lately, I got my last couple on eBay for around $20. One did arrive DOA though, but since then I've had no problems with the others.
