I'm trying to replace the rod that connects the lock cylinder to the actuator in the passenger door of my 87 Bronco. Anybody have any advice on how to get it out with the least ammount of work possible?
I got my 'new' one from a junkyard F150 (actually I got 2 to make sure they looked the same), but I did it in a pretty unorthodox way. I unscrewed the 3 screws connecting the actuator, unbolted the rear window track then just pulled on the lock rod untill it came out (trying not to bend the rod).
Pretty much what I'm getting at is I really dont want to pull the entire lock assembly out just to replace that rod if I dont have to.
Any advice is appreicated.
Thank you very much in advance.
