best thing i think i have ever done for my truck is what i did today, i took the cesna fan clutch off it and put me on a 18 inch electric fan, hell yea, woke that ole hag up, it doesnt sounds like an airplane all the time now
na i put it on a heavy duty switch with a relay , i am the kind of guy tho that keeps an eye on all my vitals at all times, i mean water and oil mostly, long as i am keepin pace with traffic who gives a damn about speed
Ummmmmmm - say cjjeeper85 - whereabouts did you score a fan for $65.00?? I assume that this was, perhaps, an auto wrecker yard? If so, what donor vehicle did you use for your truck? I know that Frederick is partial towards, I think, the Cadillac fans and I have been trying to score one or two for my truck. I have also been checking out the early 90's Buick cars with the dual electric fans as well. No luck so far - I just keep lookin'. I sure as hell can't afford the $450.00 plus that a new pair of FlexLite fans would cost me.
I have a fan out of a 93 Mercury Sable wagon 3.8L w/AC in my Thunderbird. It cools my moderately built 302 without any trouble and the Turbocoupes have no grill opening at all, just an air dam. Watch out though, It's a 2 speed fan and the high speed setting (which I'm using) pulls 42amps! It fits the Fox chassis radiator almost perfectly. It probably won't cover a truck radiator completely, but it would probably still work well.
